 Mawkyrwat, May 12, 2021: The office of the Deputy Commissioner, South West Khasi Hills Mawkyrwat in exercise of powers conferred under section 2, 3 & 4 of the Epidemic Disease Act, 1897 which has constitute the Meghalaya Epidemic Disease COVID-19 Regulations, 2020 and Amendments thereof for containment of outbreak of COVID-19 issued an order that after detection of positive cases/high risk contacts in specific identified at “Mawkyrwat Village” due to recent high risk and low risk contact with the COVID-19 positive cases, vulnerable and affected areas required aggressive contact tracing, quarantined, testing and isolation as well as containment in the interest of Health of general public against any possible spread of COVID-19.

Therefore, the office found it is necessary to declare the house and compound of “Smti. Rebecca Pakyntein, Smti. Siantinora Pakyntein, Smti. Helmina Pakyntein, Smti. Batriti Pakyntein, Shri. Goverland Pakyntein and First floor building of Smti. Helmina Pakyntein” as a “Containment Area” so as to restrict unregulated entry and exit movement on site with measures for due compliance by the public until further orders which include that no person/public shall be allowed to move into the containment area and inhabitants within the Containment area shall not move out. All the inhabitants within the containment area shall strictly remain inside their Home. No gatherings, events, functions whatsoever of any nature and forms shall be allowed. No Social, Political, Religious, Economic activities are allowed. The Incident, Zone - V, Shri. O L. Passah, Superintendent of Fisheries, and Zonal Magistrate for COVID-19 shall be the Supervising Officer and monitor strict compliance of the order. This Order will not apply to health workers and essential commodities, Press including Electronic & Print Media, Petrol pumps and LPG delivery workforce. The list includes attendants/staff of Petrol Pumps, LPG distributions/transporters, home delivery staff, electrician/linesman of MeECL etc, milkman, taxi drivers/bus drivers including MTC/STPS, truck drivers, essential commodities shopkeepers, FCI staff, PDS dealers, government drivers, domestic workers working from house to house, internet service providers, PHE staff, telecom operators from BSNL and other private operators.

DC advised to ensure for strict adherence to the Family Containment Measures

Mawkyrwat, May 11, 2021: In pursuance to letter issued from the Health & Family Welfare Department on 10/05/2021 the office of the Deputy Commissioner, South West Khasi Hills District, Mawkyrwat advised all citizens to ensure for strict adherence to the Family Containment Measures that includes wearing of masks even within the vicinity of their homes especially in the next 14 (fourteen) days is mandatory, complete home isolation is to be followed and no inter-house visits are allowed especially in close neighborhoods.

The office also issued an order that no new wedding permission or any public gathering shall be granted until further orders.

DC lifted Containment order for “Domjajew, Sumsir and Mawiong Village”

 Mawkyrwat, May 11, 2021: The office of the Deputy Commissioner, South West Khasi Hills District, Mawkyrwat lifted the Containment Order for “Domjajew, Sumsir and Mawiong Village” which was declared Containment area on the 8th May, 2021 under the Meghalaya Epidemic Diseases, COVID-19 Regulations, 2020 and Amendments thereof. The order was made based on the contact tracing status and test reports of the high-risk contacts at “Domjajew, Sumsir and Mawiong Village” and report received thereof. In view of the urgency of the matter, the order has been made ex parte.

 Mawkyrwat, May 10, 2021: In compliance to order issued by the Government of Meghalaya on 8^th May, 2021 and in continuation to order issued on 29/04/2021 and due to a surge in COVID-19 cases in the district and to prevent the district from an uncontrollable surge in COVID-19; the office of the Deputy Commissioner, South West Khasi Hills District, Mawkyrwat issued an order imposing prohibitions in the whole district of South West Khasi Hills District that Lockdown is enforced in the entire District from 5:00 AM of 15" May, 2021 till 5:00 AM of 17th May, 2021. Political. public, social and religious gatherings are not permitted including conferences. meetings and trainings. Weddings already permitted may be held but restricted to family members and not exceeding 15 persons. Wedding receptions at home or in any venue is prohibited. No new permission shall be granted until further orders. Funeral gathering to be restricted to 15 persons with prior permission from the Deputy Commissioner. Any gathering after the funeral in any form is prohibited. Entry of tourists from outside the State will not be permitted and all tourist spots remain closed. International Border Trade remain suspended. Sports activities are not permitted. All Markets including weekly hat /market remain closed during the period of lockdown. Only shops selling essential commodities at locality will be allowed to open. All markets in the district shall be closed at 6:00 pm daily. All Schools and College shall remain closed. Online classes are allowed. MBOSE examinations scheduled on 11" & 12" May, 2021 in the District are postponed until further orders. Inter-District Movement to/ from Shillong Agglomeration. Jowai town, Tura town and any other containment area will be restricted. For any other travel of an essential or emergent nature permission should be obtain from the Deputy Commissioner. It is advised that. unless absolutely necessary, movement of persons to Shillong Urban Agglomeration will not be undertaken. All non-essential movement is discouraged. Those violating the movement protocol or furnishing false self-declaration shall be liable for penal action as per law.
