LP and UP schools shall remain totally closed from 1st May, 202: DC SWKHD

Mawkyrwat, April 28, 2021: The office of the Deputy Commissioner, South West Khasi Hills District, Mawkyrwat issued an order that due to a surge in Covid-19 positive cases across the State and the District in particular and to prevent further spread of the virus, it is directed that all Lower Primary and Upper Primary Schools in the District shall remain totally closed from 1st May, 2021 until further order. The order also said that Secondary schools shall remain open with half-capacity of the class room while all Board examinations are allowed to be conducted as per Schedule.


Public gathering shall remain suspended from 1st May, 2021: DC SWKHD

Mawkyrwat, April 28, 2021: Due to a surge in Covid-19 positive cases across the State and the District in particular and to prevent further spread of the virus, the office of the Deputy Commissioner, South West Khasi Hills District, Mawkyrwat issued an order that all official and non-official training classes, public awareness campaigns, meetings and other public gatherings/congregation etc shall remain suspended from 1st May, 2021 until further order. The order also said that attendance in funeral is restricted to only 20 people.

Information regarding Malaria/World Malaria Day




 

Advisory for Travellers and High-Risk Contacts/

Mawkyrwat, April 27, 2021: Smti. C. Kharkongor, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, South West Khasi Hills District, Mawkyrwat issued this advisory for travellers and high-risk contacts. In view of the increase in number of COVID cases and rise in hospitalizations across the country, there is a need to take precautionary measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus in the State. Therefore, in order to reduce the possibility of spreading the virus, all persons who have entered the State from outside and all those persons who are identified as high-risk contacts are hereby advised to undergo home quarantine for 7 (seven) days, even if the result of the COVID test undergone is negative.

An important note that people need to keep in mind is that all persons under quarantine should diligently follow the three recommended COVID-19 Appropriate Behaviour at all times, i.e., wearing mask. maintaining social distancing and practicing hand hygiene. All persons under quarantine are to closely monitor their health. Upon development of any symptoms of COVID-19, such individuals should self-report to the nearest healthcare facility ANM/ ASHA worker. They can also report their symptoms on 14410-State Level COVID helpline or to the District Control Room at 6909904336/9485153533/6033162971.
