Mawkyrwat, May 13, 2021: The office of the Deputy Commissioner, South West Khasi Hills Mawkyrwat in exercise of powers conferred under section 2, 3 & 4 of the Epidemic Disease Act, 1897 which has constitute the Meghalaya Epidemic Disease COVID-19 Regulations, 2020 and Amendments thereof for containment of outbreak of COVID-19 issued an order that after detection of positive cases/high risk contacts in specific identified at “Nonglang Village” due to recent high risk and low risk contact with the COVID-19 positive cases, vulnerable and affected areas required aggressive contact tracing, quarantined, testing and isolation as well as containment in the interest of Health of general public against any possible spread of COVID-19.

Therefore, the office found it is necessary to declare the house and compound of “Smti. Rosalinda Snaitang” as a “Containment Area” so as to restrict unregulated entry and exit movement on site with measures for due compliance by the public until further orders which include that no person/public shall be allowed to move into the containment area and inhabitants within the Containment area shall not move out. All the inhabitants within the containment area shall strictly remain inside their Home. No gatherings, events, functions whatsoever of any nature and forms shall be allowed. No Social, Political, Religious, Economic activities are allowed. The Incident, Zone - V, Shri. O L. Passah, Superintendent of Fisheries, and Zonal Magistrate shall be the Supervising Officer and monitor strict compliance of the order. This Order will not apply to health workers and essential commodities, Press including Electronic & Print Media, Petrol pumps and LPG delivery workforce. All SOPs with regards to the prevention of spread of COVID-19 to be adhered to and if there is any violation of this order they shall entail prosecution under the penal provision of Disaster Management Act, 2005 and I.P.C.  In view of the urgency of the matter, this Order has been made ex parte.

DC promulgate NIGHT CURFEW order under section 144 Cr.P.C at SWKHD

Mawkyrwat, May 13, 2021: Smti. C. Kharkongor, IAS, District Magistrate, South West Khasi Hills District, Mawkyrwat promulgate NIGHT CURFEW in South West Khasi Hills District with effect from 14^th May, 2021 (Friday) to 21^st May, 2021 (Friday) from 10.00 P.M to 5.00 A.M daily under Section 144 Cr.P.C read together with Regulation 3 of the Meghalaya Epidemic Diseases, COVID-19 Regulations, 2020. The order was issued in view of the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in the Country and globally and the rapidly rising COVID-19 cases in the State, it has necessary to contain the spread of COVID-19 in the District in the interest of health of general public.

The order was issued to put in place preventive measures and mitigation to identiy and take more stringent steps so the pandemic of COVID-19 is contained, reduced and eliminated in South West Khasi Hills District and Meghalaya, by way of ensuring observance of strict protocols of the Advisories issued by the Government of Meghalaya in the Health & Family Welfare Department.

According to the order movement of individuals within the district shall remain prohibited between 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM (Night Curfew) each day and no plying of vehicles other than essential services/ essential commodities is permitted. The Order will Not apply to Medical Team and officials on COVID-19 duty, Police, Security and Armed Forces, Civil Defense and Home Guard volunteers, Wholesale and Retail Pharmacies, Fire & Emergency Service, MeECL & Power Grid, Officers and Staff of Corona Care Centers, Press, Print & Electronic media, Information & Public Relations Department, Telecom service, Petrol Pumps, Public Works Department (PWD), Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department, A.H & Veterinary Department, Banks, ATM & Treasuries, Essential Services including Health services and Government Officials on Duty. However, these services shall strictly comply with all protocols and procedures including social distancing, limiting of field staff to the barest minimum and other advisories of Government in the Health and Family Welfare Department, WITHOUT FAIL.

Any person violating the order will be liable as per law. In view of the urgency of the matter, this order has been made ex-parte.

Mawkyrwat, May 11, 2021: In pursuance to letter issued from the Health & Family Welfare Department on 10/05/2021 the office of the Deputy Commissioner, South West Khasi Hills District, Mawkyrwat advised all citizens to ensure for strict adherence to the Family Containment Measures that includes wearing of masks even within the vicinity of their homes especially in the next 14 (fourteen) days is mandatory, complete home isolation is to be followed and no inter-house visits are allowed especially in close neighborhoods.

House of “Smt. Belinda Marweiñ” from Mawlangwir declared as a “Containment Area”

Mawkyrwat, May 11, 2021: The office of the Deputy Commissioner, South West Khasi Hills Mawkyrwat in exercise of powers conferred under section 2, 3 & 4 of the Epidemic Disease Act, 1897 which has constitute the Meghalaya Epidemic Disease COVID-19 Regulations, 2020 and Amendments thereof for containment of outbreak of COVID-19 issued an order that after detection of positive cases/high risk contacts in specific identified at “Mawlangwir Village” due to recent high risk and low risk contact with the COVID-19 positive cases, vulnerable and affected areas required aggressive contact tracing, quarantined, testing and isolation as well as containment in the interest of Health of general public against any possible spread of COVID-19.

Therefore, the office found it is necessary to declare the house and compound of “Smt. Belinda Marweiñ” as a “Containment Area” so as to restrict unregulated entry and exit movement on site with measures for due compliance by the public until further orders which include that no person/public shall be allowed to move into the containment area and inhabitants within the Containment area shall not move out. All the inhabitants within the containment area shall strictly remain inside their Home. No gatherings, events, functions whatsoever of any nature and forms shall be allowed. No Social, Political, Religious, Economic activities are allowed. The Incident, Zone - V, Shri. O L. Passah, Superintendent of Fisheries, Zonal Magistrate shall be the Supervising Officer and monitor strict compliance of the order. This Order will not apply to health workers and essential commodities, Press including Electronic & Print Media, Petrol pumps and LPG delivery workforce. All SOPs with regards to the prevention of spread of COVID-19 to be adhered to and if there is any violation of this order they shall entail prosecution under the penal provision of Disaster Management Act, 2005 and I.P.C.  In view of the urgency of the matter, this Order has been made ex parte.

 Mawkyrwat, May 10, 2021: In compliance to order issued by the Government of Meghalaya on 8^th May, 2021 and in continuation to order issued on 29/04/2021 and due to a surge in COVID-19 cases in the district and to prevent the district from an uncontrollable surge in COVID-19; the office of the Deputy Commissioner, South West Khasi Hills District, Mawkyrwat issued an order imposing prohibitions in the whole district of South West Khasi Hills District that Lockdown is enforced in the entire District from 5:00 AM of 15" May, 2021 till 5:00 AM of 17th May, 2021. Political. public, social and religious gatherings are not permitted including conferences. meetings and trainings. Weddings already permitted may be held but restricted to family members and not exceeding 15 persons. Wedding receptions at home or in any venue is prohibited. No new permission shall be granted until further orders. Funeral gathering to be restricted to 15 persons with prior permission from the Deputy Commissioner. Any gathering after the funeral in any form is prohibited. Entry of tourists from outside the State will not be permitted and all tourist spots remain closed. International Border Trade remain suspended. Sports activities are not permitted. All Markets including weekly hat /market remain closed during the period of lockdown. Only shops selling essential commodities at locality will be allowed to open. All markets in the district shall be closed at 6:00 pm daily. All Schools and College shall remain closed. Online classes are allowed. MBOSE examinations scheduled on 11" & 12" May, 2021 in the District are postponed until further orders. Inter-District Movement to/ from Shillong Agglomeration. Jowai town, Tura town and any other containment area will be restricted. For any other travel of an essential or emergent nature permission should be obtain from the Deputy Commissioner.
