DC declares “Domjajew,
Sumsir and Mawiong village” as “Containment Area”
Mawkyrwat,
May 08, 2021: The office of the Deputy
Commissioner, South West Khasi Hills District, Mawkyrwat issued this order in
exercise of powers conferred by the Government of Meghalaya under section 2, 3
& 4 of the Epidemic Disease Act, 1897 has constitute the Meghalaya Epidemic
Disease COVID-19 Regulations, 2020 and Amendments thereof for containment of
outbreak of COVID-19. After detection of
positive cases/high risk contacts in specific identified in “Domjajew,
Sumsir and Mawiong village” due to recent high risk and low risk contact
with the COVID-19 positive cases, vulnerable and affected areas required
aggressive contact tracing, quarantined, testing and isolation as well as
containment in the interest of Health of general public against any possible
spread of COVID-19.
Therefore, the office found it is necessary to
declare the “Domjajew, Sumsir and Mawiong village” as a “Containment
Area” so as to restrict unregulated entry and exit movement on site. The measures for due compliance by the public
until further orders include No person/public shall be allowed to move into the
containment area and inhabitants within the Containment area shall not move
out. All the inhabitants within the containment area shall strictly remain
inside their Home. No gatherings, events, functions whatsoever of any nature
and forms shall be allowed. No Social, Political, Religious, Economic
activities are allowed. The Incident, Zone- I, Shri. K. Hynniewta, District
Statistical Officer, Zonal Magistrate shall be the Supervising Officer and
monitor strict compliance of the order. This Order will not apply to health
workers and essential commodities, Press including Electronic & Print
Media, Petrol pumps and LPG delivery workforce. All SOP’s with regards to the
prevention of spread of COVID-19 to be adhered to. Any violation of this order
shall entail prosecution under the penal provision of Disaster Management Act,
2005 and I.P.C. In view of the urgency
of the matter, this Order has been made ex parte.
