Clan Relations of Khasi Society

Clan Relations of Khasi Society

Talking about the Khasi social relation system is a complex task because the relation differs from one place to another and from one clan to another clan. If there are conflicts between the clans there will also be a division of clans. Ka Jingiateh kur ki Khasi (related clans of the khasi) is very unique one. It is strictly forbidden or prohibit for the Khasis to marry with their related clan members. It is incest for them and so it is not permitted. If the couple do not oblige and obey the clan norms they could be excommunicated from the clan and this is the biggest punishment that a person or family can ever receive in their lives. Sorry for not making it clear. Those who are in brackets are informants who bear the clan name and the information is first hand information from them.
I am trying to update it about the clan relations whenever I get new information.
Thank you Philippe for commenting. If you or anyone know something more do comment and share with us...

I'm a 40yrs old warjri. I can say for a fact that the warjri's are in no way related or "ia teh kur" with the warbah or warjarain. In fact my eldest sister was married to a warbah.I suggest you Get your facts right before you publish any false material which might confused the readers visiting your page.
