Overloaded trucks will not be allowed to ply from Ranikor to Mawkyrwat road

Mawkyrwat, September 07: The Addl. District Magistrate of South West Khasi Hills District, Mawkyrwat, Shri. S.C.Laloo, MCS, issued and order under section 144 Cr.PC to prohibit any overloaded trucks carrying load beyond the permissible load limit not exceeding 9 (nine) mt, to ply through this road in order to regulate such unlawful activity that may disrupt the free movement of vehicular traffic in the district that may cause inconvenience to the members of the general public.

The order was made after an information was received that heavy overloaded laden trucks are plying from Ranikor -Nongnalh- Mawkyrwat (portion Mawmerang to Khatplhra) and vice versa carrying load beyond the permissible load limit which had caused tremendous and deplorable damage to the road condition, especially during the monsoon in that area causing grave risk to the life and property of the commuters plying through the road and to prevent any eventuality caused by the deplorable road condition and to restrict such haphazard movement and plying of heavy overloaded trucks from and to this area. In view of the emergency of the matter the order shall take immediate effect and will remain in force till further orders.
