Commemoration of the 50th Meghalaya Statehood Day at Mawkyrwat

Mawkyrwat January 21, 2022: Together with the rest of the state, 50^th Meghalaya Day was also celebrated at the Multi-Purpose Hall, DC Campus Mawkyrwat in virtual participation with the state Celebration which was held at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium Complex, Shillong.

The programme was attended by Smti. Caramai Kharkongor, Deputy Commissioner of South West Khasi Hills District, Mawkyrwat and officials of the district. The programme was celebrated by observing strict COVID-19 protocols.

Miss Kharkongor  in a speech which was delivered prior to the virtual programme dedicated this historic day to the Hill State movement  their reverberance and sacrifices  for the benefit of the people. She also highlighted the different achievements of the state and said that the state has witnessed tremendous progress and development in these last 50 years despite different obstacles and hardships. She hoped that we will be able to take the state forward and bring about positive changes to the state in the near future by striving forward towards achieving our dreams for a vibrant Meghalaya.

The programme at the District was chaired by Shri. Lana Kio Diengdoh, MCS, EAC cum BDO Mawkyrwa and the vote of thanks was delivered by Shri Lastborn Myrthong, MCS, EAC, Mawkyrwat.
